What are the main features in Desert of Flames?

What setting does Desert of Flames take place in?

The first expansion is set within an Arabian Nights theme. It builds upon familiar EverQuest lore, and takes place within the desert of Ro and its city, Maj'Dul.

Is the level cap increasing beyond 50 in the expansion?

The level cap for both adventure and artisan professions will be increasing to 60 as part of the expansion.

Will there be Player-versus-Player combat in DoF?

PvP combat in Desert of Flames exists in the form of Arena Champions. You can battle as yourself or take control of a creature champion in a variety of PvP scenarios. The champion you choose to play with will be influenced by the scenario you are taking part in. For example, you may want to be a Goblin Assassin in Capture the Flag, taking advantage of its speed and stealth, or a Golem Warrior in Defend and Assault, taking advantage of that champion's strength.

You will even have the opportunity to discover and collect new Arena Champions to take control of in PvP battles. One of the most important points to consider about Arena Champions is that players of all levels can participate. You might be a level 20 Adventurer, but that doesn't mean you couldn't have a level 50 Arena Champion. It is a new progression path available to those who elect to participate.

The "new dimension of gameplay" you may have heard of is climbing. You will be able to escape from enemies and explore over a dozen new zones by climbing up and down cliffs and walls.

Can I climb everywhere in the expansion?

There are specific cliffs and walls in DoF that you will be able to climb up and down. While you cannot climb anywhere you want, it is an integral gameplay feature that we are very excited about.
